Makaton is used to support spoken language – signs are used with speech, in spoken word order to help children to communicate. We use this in our setting to support communication for all children and children with additional needs and delayed speech. Makaton is the sign and symbol language used in the CBeebies show, Something Special with Mr Tumble.
